737 Max disasters were 'horrific culmination' of errors by Boeing and FAA, House report finds |
Two Boeing 737 Max crashes that killed 346 people were the fault of “repeated and serious failures" by the plane manufacturer and the FAA, a new House investigative report found. The fatal crashes in Indonesia in October 2018 and Ethiopia in March 2019 were “a horrific culmination of a series of faulty technical assumptions by Boeing’s engineers, a lack of transparency on the part of Boeing’s management, and grossly insufficient oversight by the FAA," according to the report released Wednesday by the Democratic-controlled House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure.
