(“El Nuevo Diario”, Province of Santiago del Estero, Argentina).
Agreement between the Province and the company Solena Group.
They will generate electricity with domiciliary residues
The Governor of the Argentine Province of Santiago del Estero, Gerardo Zamora, has provided a plant site in the Department of Robles, for the construction of a Solena plasma gasification plant, which will be able to produce clean and green energy from biomass. This will be done within the framework of the Law of Industrial Promotion. The ambitious project anticipates that with the contribution to the gasification plant of 500 daily tons of solid waste or refuse derived fuel, 40Mwh of renewable power can be produced, which represents the 25% of the energy demand of the province.
With the presence of Zamora, the signature of the agreement was done in the House of Government.
Bioenergy
Solena’s bioenergy plant will generate 40 Mwh of green electricity from 500 tons per day of biomass and fuel derived from residues generated by the city of Santiago del Estero and the environs.
According to Do, “the advanced plasma gasification technology produces a bio-synthetic gas that can be used to replace natural gas and to provide a bio-fuel gas to a gas turbine in combined cycle for the generation of renewable and clean electrical energy, without pollution or ash, as well as achieving lower emissions of CO2 because the plant does not use fossil fuels. The plant will be carbon neutral”.
The Solena gasification plant will allow Santiago del Estero to have the first installation for the generation of renewable electrical energy to satisfy the growth needs and, at the same time, to administer in a viable way the use of its urban and rural residues.
