Husband of House Speaker Pelosi attacked during break-in of California home and hospitalized, her office says

Drew Hammill, a spokesman for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), said an assailant broke into the couple’s San Francisco home and Paul Pelosi was “violently assaulted.” The assailant is in custody and the motivation for the attack is under investigation. Paul Pelosi is expected to make a full recovery. The speaker was not in San Francisco at the time.
