Prosecution witness
Rick Gates, a former business partner of Paul Manafort, testified Monday that
he joined Donald Trump's former campaign chairman in committing crimes.
"Did you commit
any crimes with Mr. Manafort?" the prosecution asked in the Alexandria,
Va., federal court.
"Yes,"
answered Gates, who has entered into a plea agreement with special counsel
Robert Mueller's office. Manafort, the first Trump associate to be prosecuted
by Mueller, who is investigating the president, is facing bank and tax fraud
charges; he has pleaded not guilty.
